As a young man, the artist is abandoned by his mother in a clothing store. Once he grows up, he gets up to all sorts of shenanigans.
Charming, gentle folk with impeccable lyrics and a mid-twentieth-century sense of humor. The literal antithesis to Album #7, the name of which I will not write again. Try “Landlord Jackie” or “Roll Along With Me.” “Hard Luck Boy” is excellent either as a song or as a spoken-word piece.
